Investigation on Seismic Performance of the Fully Assembled Steel Frame Applying Beam-Column Joints with Replaceable Energy-Dissipating Elements

Based on the application of a beam-column joint with replaceable energy-dissipating elements and hinged proposed by author, seismic performance fully assembled steel frame this was investigated in paper. Through two projects traditional (TSF) an applying joints (ASFWREE) their numerical simulation calculation SAP2000, main structural design indicators such as natural vibration period, period ratio, mass participation coefficient, base shear force, inter-story displacement angle, rigid-weight shear-weight ratio frames under frequent earthquake, influence factors were compared analyzed. By carrying out elastic–plastic dynamic time–history analysis rare maximum stiffness between floors, vertex displacement, occurrence sequence distribution plastic hinges items compared. The results show that deformation ASFWREE had characteristics TSF deviation less than 5% when linear element to beam approximately 0.8, horizontal length span about 0.25, which close strength grade beam. earthquake or higher TSF, can ensure column are not damaged, structure does collapse. failure mode is consistent experimental research joints.
